 07.30.2001 - the night before surgery, in the hotel… checking out the infamous wooden spoons |
 07.30.2001 - I’m packing my bag for the hospital… and starting to get nervous. I’m wondering what the next few days have in store for me. |
 07.31.2001 - the nurse is checking my vital signs… it’s way too early in the morning |
 07.31.2001 - by this time, the anesthesiologist has started my IV, and given me some happy drugs  |
 07.31.2001 - I am so out of it here. This is right after I woke-up. |
 07.31.2001 - There are 6 holes where the instruments were inserted for the surgery. I have blue dye all over my lips and face from the surgery. |
 08.04.2001 - first full day out of the hospital |
 08.04.2001 - At this point, the staples have not been removed. Most of the scars are healing very well. The one to the side of my belly button has bruises all around it. |
