WOOO!!! HOOO!!! I just had to shout it to the world!

I’ve lost ONE HUNDRED pounds!!!

(I’m sure that going to a friend’s birthday party last night and drinking like a fish and being totally dehydrated this morning has something to do with it. But I don’t care. The scale said 152 and I’m countin’ it!) =D

I know once I spend all day drinking water, the scale will go back up. But for today, I’m at -100 pounds! It probably won’t reflect on my weekly progress update since I fluctuate from day to day. We’ll see…

Oh! And I got a call from Dr. Wongsa’s office and my re-test of my iron levels came back normal. Thank goodness. He lowered me to 2 Flinstone Plus Iron Vitamins per day instead of 4 a day. At my 6 month post-op check-up he said, “well, you did it.” I was like, “what?” He said, “your normal range BMI is 19-33 and your BMI today is 32.6. Congatulations!” Then he proceeded to tell me something I have NEVER heard from a Doctor. “Eat whatever you want.” Can you believe that? I’ve always been told to diet. He’s worried about me losing too much weight. He doesn’t want me to go below 140 pounds. My goal has been 135 so that when/if I have a tummy tuck, I should be 130. But, we’ll see what it’s like at 140… I’ve got to get there first. So, as Scarlett O’Hara would say, “I’ll think about that tomorrow.” ;-)

-100 pounds… 17 to go…

How totally depressing is this? Tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary of my weight loss surgery. I know, I know… that’s not the depressing part. Day after tomorrow, I go to Houston to see Dr. Wongsa for my 6 month check-up. So last week I had a bunch of bloodwork done and they will be faxing it to Dr. Wongsa’s office. Well, the nurse from my Primary Care Physician’s office just called to give me the results of my bloodwork. She said my cholesterol was high. :( Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it. She said Dr. Marietta said to make sure I’m avoiding fats. If he knew how little I eat in a day and what I eat… there’s no way! A few weeks ago I even started eating oatmeal every morning for breakfast. Supposedly that’s supposed to help lower your cholesterol. I’m so totally bummed. I bet they put me on cholesterol medication. :(

She also said that even though my B-12 level is normal, it is dropping. They want to continue to watch that. I have heard that several people who have weight loss surgery have problems with their B-12 and they end up having to have B-12 shots every now and then. Then she said that my iron level was HIGH. High? Iron level high? That seems so odd to me. I was under the impression that weight loss surgery patients had to worry about their iron level being too low. Dr. Marietta wanted to make sure that I am not taking any iron supplements. Well, Dr. Wongsa has had me on 4 Flinstone plus iron vitamins a day, everyday since my surgery. I guess I’ll wait to talk to him before I quit taking them.

So that’s my news. I’ll write more after my 6 month check-up.

-91 pounds… 26 to go…

I did it! I’m totally ahead of my goal!!! I’ve now lost 88 pounds! I wanted to hit this goal by January 29th, so now I’m 13 days ahead of schedule!!! Today I got rid of my size 13/14 and XL clothes. I am now wearing a size 11/12 and L!!!! OH MY GOD!!! I can’t believe I’m wearing a size 12 pair of jeans! When I hold them up, they seem so small! But then I put them on, AND THEY FIT!!! I now weigh 164 pounds. My next goal is to lose another 14 pounds by April 16th.
