While the subject of this post suggests success, I must first admit to my setback. By my 35th birthday in March, I got up to 175 pounds. Ugh. Just typing that now makes me sick to my stomach. I knew I had to do something to find my motivation.
My mother-in-law told me about a competition they had at her work that really helped her. In fact, she won the top prize! I decided I should run a similar competition. I chose to run two of them simultaneously. One at work and one in my neighborhood.
It worked!! In 10 weeks I went from 175 to 154 lbs. I won 2nd place in our neighborhood & 1st place at work!
I thought I’d share the competition guidelines with you here in case you would like to try something similar.
What did I do during these 10 weeks to shed the weight? I ate Jenny Craig for the first 9 weeks. I walked between 30-60 minutes 5 mornings a week. I attended a bootcamp 3 times a week at Train 4 The Game. The last week I ate South Beach Phase one. And I even admit to trying the lemonade cleanse the last weekend. But I don’t recommend it. Apparently if you already eat healthy, there’s not much cleansing to be had. At least not for me.
Good luck! And let me know if you decide to do something similar or have any questions! ![]()
